Our mission is to preserve and share the history of American pottery, with a special focus on Trenton’s important role in ceramic art, design, manufacturing, and innovation.
Through classes, exhibits, studio access, research opportunities, and public programs, TCAP will connect people to the art, craft, history, and cultural impact of pottery.
The Trenton Center of American Pottery fulfills its mission by preserving, teaching, and celebrating Trenton’s rich pottery and ceramics legacy through education, exhibitions, studio access, and community programs.
The Center will offer a wide range of pottery and ceramics programs, including hands-on classes, workshops, artist-led demonstrations, exhibitions, lectures, community events, and opportunities for students, artists, and visitors to engage directly with clay, ceramic design, and Trenton’s historic role in American pottery.
These programs are designed to be educational, engaging, accessible, and welcoming to people of all backgrounds and experience levels. By connecting the public with working artists, instructors, historians, and ceramic professionals, the Center encourages creativity, skill-building, cultural appreciation, and a deeper understanding of Trenton’s important contribution to American art, industry, and design.
